Comerica Theater, formally known as the Dodge Theater, is 5,000-seat performing arts Center located in Downtown Phoenix. The facility includes a full fly tower and flexible seating that can convert from Broadway touring productions to center stage boxing.
Even though there are many touring shows that prefer an ‘in-between’ sized venue (between 3,000 and 6,000 seats) in which to perform, there is an underserved niche that still exists in most markets throughout the country. The Comerica Theater program was created by Future Cities as a hybrid venue to fill that niche.
Operationally, the theater was designed to complement the management portfolio of America West Arena utilizing many of the same revenue concepts and many of the same operations staff who manage suites, sponsorships, food and beverage operations.
These were all non-traditional sources for theaters historically at the time but are quickly becoming more mainstream as a result.
